Bio

Beebe Nelson consults with a wide variety of clients to improve their innovation practices. She was lead facilitator at the PDMA’s Frontier Dialogues, and worked with the International Association for Product Development (IAPD) for almost 20 years, retiring as Director in 2011. Supported by over 40 of the world’s major corporations the IAPD led industry’s most advanced program of discovery, understanding, and implementation of best practices in innovation and new product development. During her IAPD tenure she helped design workshops which addressed issues that were critical to member companies’ ability to innovate, including, most recently, The Innovation Workforce of the Future, Innovating in the New Economy, and Innovation and Sustainability.

Professor Jean-Philippe Deschamps (IMD ret) launched the research for their new book, Innovation Governance: How Top Management Organizes and Mobilizes for Innovation (Wiley, 2014), at an IAPD Roundtable held at Harley-Davidson in 2009. New Product Development for Dummies (Wiley, 2007), co-authored with Robin Karol, presents the basics of what innovating companies have learned in the over two decades since Beebe began her consulting career as a member of the New Product Delivery Support Center at Polaroid Corporation.

Beebe was Visiting Assistant Professor in the College of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2005 – 2007.
